Eversheds Sutherland advises Rheem Manufacturing on the acquisition of MHG HeiztechnikMay 12, 2023 The international law firm Eversheds Sutherland advised Rheem Europe on the acquisition of MHG Heiztechnik GmbH, a manufacturer and supplier of sophisticated space heating and domestic hot water heating systems in Germany. Rheem Europe is part of the international Rheem Manufacturing Group, a global leader in the manufacture of high-quality, sustainable, and innovative water heaters, tankless water heaters, air conditioners, furnaces, pool heaters, and HVAC systems for residential and commercial applications. The acquisition gives Rheem a new presence in Germany along with a market channel for sustainable solutions, specifically hybrid and all-electric heat pumps. The acquisition of MHG Heiztechnik further helps Rheem penetrate a part of Europe where, until now, it did not have a presence. It is also the first M&A transaction which Eversheds Sutherland has advised Rheem on. The team of Eversheds Sutherland was headed by Dr. Christian Lindner (Counsel) and Sophia Münzel (Senior Associate) (both Corporate/M&A, Munich). Further team members were Merle Templin (Counsel, Employment, Hamburg), Jens Binding (Counsel, Tax), Niklas Schilawa (Senior Associate, Tax), Hizir Aydogdu (Senior Associate, Real Estate), Maximilian-Philipp Schoeps (Associate, Regulatory, all Dusseldorf), Steffen Morawietz (Counsel, Commercial, Munich).
