Eversheds Sutherland Announces Sponsorship of US Amateur Golf Champion Mason HowellThis is the first time the firm has sponsored a golfer and an amateur US athleteApril 01, 2026 ATLANTA | Eversheds Sutherland (US) is proud to announce the sponsorship of Mason Howell, the reigning US Amateur Champion, as he prepares to compete in several of professional golf’s most prestigious championships during the 2026 season, including the Masters Tournament, the US Open, and The Open Championship. A Georgia native, Mr. Howell made history when he won the 125th US Amateur Championship, becoming the third‑youngest champion in the event’s history. At just 18 years old, he is competing on golf’s biggest stage while maintaining his amateur status, a distinction that underscores what makes this moment in his career unique. “This sponsorship reflects our firm’s commitment to investing early and supporting the next generation, both within the legal profession and in our communities,” said Lino Mendiola, Global Co‑CEO and US Chief Executive of Eversheds Sutherland. “We are proud to watch Mason compete and to support him at this stage of his journey.” Under the sponsorship, Eversheds Sutherland will partner with Mr. Howell throughout the 2026 and 2027 seasons, alongside co‑sponsor Huntington Bank. “I’m grateful for the support from Eversheds Sutherland,” said Mr. Howell. “It means a lot to me, and I’m excited to represent an organization that believes in investing in people and their future.” Mr. Howell will make his Masters debut next week at Augusta National Golf Club, where he will be paired with Rory McIlroy, last year’s Masters champion, for the opening two rounds. Eversheds Sutherland has a long‑standing presence at Augusta National and looks forward to watching Mr. Howell as he takes on one of the sport’s most iconic tournaments. After the Masters, Mr. Howell will compete at the US Open Championship in June and The Open Championship in July.
